Enviro Garden Cocopeat (Coir pith) is a byproduct in the process of fiber extraction from theHusk of the coconut. The long fibers of coir are extracted from the coconut husk and utilized inthe manufacture of brushes, twine, automobile seat and mattress stuffing and other products. Theshort fibers (2mm or less) and dust (“pith”) left behind in the process is called “Coir Pith” or“Cocopeat” or “Coco Substrate” and is now increasingly used as a growing medium for Agri andHorticulture.
Enviro Garden Coco or Cocopeat or Coir Fiber Pith is derived as a byproduct in the process offiber extraction from the Husk of the coconut. The eco-friendly material Cocopeat is a 100% natural growing medium. Our Washed Elite (OMRI Listed Cocopeat is OMRI certified.
Enviro Garden Coco peat is dried under natural sunlight in concrete drying yard and processed toproduce various growing mechanisms. Enviro Garden Cocopeat has a highly porous materialstructure. Hence Cocopeat can absorb large volumes of water. Generally Cocopeat can absorbwater about half of its volume and 5 to 6 times its weight. Coco peat has great oxygenation
properties. That makes Coco peat rooting solutions highly suitable for potting mixtures, floriculture and hydroponics
Its high lignin percentage – 31% – makes cocopeat very stable and slowly decomposing. Ingeneral it takes about 10 years to decompose. Even decomposed coir pith is used as hydroponicssystems for growing roses. Enviro Garden Cocopeat can store and release nutrients to plants for
long periods of time.
However, for horticultural use, Cocopeat products must have specific chemical and biologicalstandards such as suitable pH-level, electrical conductivity for Washed Coco Peat Elite which isOMRI Certified). Also we produce Buffered Coco Peat (Classic ) which is (Non OMRI) withminimized Sodium & Potassium . Clean and high-quality Enviro Garden Coco contain naturalrooting hormones and anti-fungal properties.
Enviro Garden Cocopeat products can be mixed with fertilizers and nutrients according to thespecific requirements of the plants.
